California Council for Excellence Announces 2011 CTEA Award Recipients
LOS ANGELES – November 15, 2011 – The California Council for Excellence (CCE) today announces this year’s recipients of the 2011 California Team Excellence Awards (CTEA).
Administered by CCE, the CTEA program recognizes project-based teams within California organizations. These teams are evaluated based on their ability to improve performance, save money, and further the goals of their organization.

The 2011 CTEA Bronze Level recipients are: Naval Facilities Southwest – Hospital Replacement Team, San Diego, Calif.; Good Samaritan Hospital – Patient Flow: Preadmissions/Admissions Team, Los Angeles, Calif.; Adventist Health Central Valley Network – Medication Inventory Control Team, Hanford, Calif.; and Sharp HealthCare – Sharp Lean ER Team, San Diego, Calif.


The top-scoring team, Naval Facilities Southwest – Hospital Replacement Team, will represent California this May in the International Team Excellence Awards competition, held at the 2012 ASQ World Conference for Quality and Improvement in Anaheim, Calif.


2011 CTEA Winners Announced

Rusty Robinson, Chair of the CTEA Council, applauded this year’s winners. “These organizations demonstrate an inspiring level of commitment to organizational improvement and performance excellence through team efforts,” said Robinson. “The outstanding results and clear focus on continuous process improvement of our high-performing winners certainly shows their worthiness of this prestigious award.”
The CTEA recipients will be formally honored at CCE’s 18th Annual Best Practices and Awards Conference, Celebrating Excellence 2012, at Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel, Anaheim, Calif., on May 1 and 2. The CTEA awards ceremony will be held during breakfast on Wednesday, May 2.
Founded in 1992, the California Council for Excellence is a nonprofit educational foundation dedicated to helping California-based organizations achieve world-class results through the principles and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The organization oversees programs such as CAPE™ and CTEA, as well as the Governor’s Award for Excellence and the United States Productivity Award.
